Yorkshire Ambulance Service

Formed on 1 July 2006 when the county's three former services merged. It covers almost 6,000 square miles,It employs around 4,358 staff and provides 24-hour emergency to a population of  five million. uses 1,160 volunteers in various parts of the service.

received 751,910 emergency calls in 2011-12 - an average of over 2,050 calls per day.

Patient Transport Service (PTS) which makes around 1.1 million journeys.

62 ambulance stations across the county.

Has a fleet of over 500 emergency vehicles.

Emergency Care Assistants are called A&E Support assistants in the Yorkshire Ambulance Service.
